Thirty-three year-old Palestinian journalist Mohammed al-Qeeq enters the 87th day of a hunger strike he launched to protest his ‘administrative detention’, a Gitmo style Israeli incarceration in which ‘suspects” (read: Palestinians) are imprisoned indefinitely without charge. I haven’t read or heard a peep about al-Qeeq in the UK press, and I’ll be curious to see how he’s described if his death does make the papers here.

Meantime, silence. Remember Bobby Sands? That’s because someone told you about him.
